The 5LD03 course helps you learn how to lead effective learning sessions that really make a difference. You’ll learn how to plan lessons that have a big impact, use activities before class to get everyone ready, and personalise learning to fit each person’s needs. It also covers how to teach well, whether it’s in person or online, and the important values and rules for giving people a great learning experience.

In this course, you’ll create personalised learning materials by considering both inside and outside factors. You’ll talk about what facilitation is and how to do it well to help learning. You’ll also show how to check if your teaching is working and adjust it for different learners. We’ll talk about the right and wrong ways to teach and make sure everyone feels included in the activities. Lastly, you’ll learn about how learning can be used in real life and see how managers can help with this.

Task 1
This task seeks to assess your detailed knowledge and understanding of facilitation and how to ensure it has a positive impact.
Regarding relevant theory and models, please provide written answers to each of the instructions below.
Before delivering a learning event, there are several factors for a facilitator to consider.
- Evaluate what these are in relation to: preparing resources, preparing learners, and preparing yourself as facilitator. (AC 1.1)
- Discuss the concept of facilitation and how three different facilitation techniques can be used to support learning. (AC 2.1)
- Explore the ethical factors involved in facilitation of learning. (AC 2.3)
- Explain the concept of ‘transfer of learning’ and its significance in workplace learning. (AC 3.1)
- Critically assess two strategies for supporting the transfer of learning from learning and development activities to the workplace. (AC 3.2)
- Evaluate the role of line managers in supporting transfer of learning for their team members, and how the L&D function can support them in this. (AC 3.3)
